Position: Videography Intern

Duration: 3 months (Fall Semester)

Torch is thrilled to offer a Videographer Internship for individuals passionate about capturing compelling visuals and visual storytelling through video content. Torch is a cultural media agency that centers HBCU culture and storytelling while connecting their campuses and students to resources that help them elevate their experiences. It is our mission to create a digital platform that unifies all HBCUs and creates space for us to appreciate the accomplishments and uniqueness of our culture.


Job Description:

As a Videography Intern at Torch you will have the opportunity to hone your skills in filming, editing, and storytelling. You will be responsible for helping develop video content that informs, educates and entertains your audience engaging video content. This internship provides a hands-on experience that allows you to contribute to various projects while expanding your creative horizons. This is an unpaid opportunity.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the production team to conceptualize, plan, and execute video projects that align with Torch's objectives and creative vision.

- Capture high-quality video footage with a focus on composition, framing, and visual aesthetics.

-Must have your own equipment

- Participate in pre-production tasks, such as scriptwriting, storyboarding, and shot planning.

- Edit and enhance video content using video editing software to create compelling narratives.

- Incorporate graphics, sound effects, and music to enhance the storytelling aspect of videos.

- Collaborate with the post-production team to deliver final edited videos on schedule.

- Stay updated on industry trends, videography techniques, and new technologies to enhance your skills.

- Participate in team meetings, sharing ideas and contributing to creative brainstorming sessions.


Qualifications:

- Strong passion for videography, storytelling, and visual communication.

- Basic understanding of videography principles, including camera operation, composition, and lighting.

- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) is a plus.

- Familiarity with audio recording and basic post-production techniques.

- Creativity and the ability to translate concepts into visually engaging content.

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

- Effective communication and collaboration skills within a team environment.

- Experience with motion graphics or animation is encouraged but not mandatory.

- A portfolio showcasing videography work or personal projects is recommended.
