Become a Torchbearer of HBCU Culture.

Imagine a digital space where we all can witness the brilliance of HBCUs through tangible artifacts such as yearbooks, sports memorabilia, historic documents, photographs and more. We have been building such space through our archive of HBCU memorabilia since 2016. Preserving these artifacts have been an integral part of our efforts honor the role HBCUs have played in shaping African American culture, fostering academic excellence, and empowering generations of students. Our goal is to grow this archive to become the world’s most comprehensive collection of HBCU artifacts and memorabilia, but we need your help!

How to Join In

If you or someone you know has any HBCU-related memorabilia gathering dust in their attic, basement, or garage, consider becoming a Torchbearer and donating your items to the Torch archive. Those old yearbooks, photographs, jerseys, event programs and clothing can provide invaluable information for future researchers, historians, alumni and students eager to understand the growth and impact of HBCUs. If you don’t have any items to donate you can also donate monetarily. In the midst of our research we often find these artifacts being sold and your monetary contributions can help us acquire them when we do.
